These are high quality deerskin leather laces made in the U.S. We currently offer them in 10 colors on 50' spools. The laces come in two widths: 1/8" and 3/16". The 1/8" lacing is approximately 1.5 mm to 2 mm (0.06" to 0.08") thick. The lacing on each roll is continuous, i.e., they are spliced in the factory to produce a continuous length. The skins the laces are cut from come from different dye lots, so there will be some variation in color. Also expect some minor variation in width as deerskin is very hard to cut to a consistent width. We also sell deerskin leather by the lace (i.e., not on spools).
Genus and species: Odocoileus virginianus. Wild. A U.S. Fish and Wildlife export permit is required for exports. We also stock this lace in our Canadian office in Toronto to serve the Canadian and international markets. The deer hides used to make the deerskin laces come from leather that originates from a licensed annual legal hunt used to reduce the number of deer in the wild to keep them from overpopulating their territory. In nearly all cases, the hunters use the meat from the deer for food and the antlers for crafts or decoration. Made in the USA |
