In addition to the
Tibet Lambskin Plates,
we offer whole Tibet lamb skins. The plates are made by piecing
together pieces of Tibet lamb skins. The whole skins are just what
they say--whole skins, not pieced plates. Since these are whole skins, the size and shape of each skin is not consistent and does vary. The measurements provided below are general guidelines and are not definitive. If you require a certain useable size, please let us know before you order.
The whole skins are ideal as rugs
or for use by doll makers because the hair will fall in a consistent
manner. The backs of the skins are also clean and can be used to
draw or paint on.
The natural white skins are about 36" to 42" long and 19" to 22" wide, measured down the middle of the skin.
The bleached white skins are about 36" to 42" long and 19" to 22" wide, measured down the middle of the skin.
The dyed black skins range in size from
34" to 37" long and 19" to 22" wide, measured down the middle of the skin.
The short hair natural white skins range in size from 18" to 26" long and 10" to 14" wide, measured down the middle of the skin.. One short hair, natural white skin measured 23.75" long by 13.75" wide down the middle with 2" long hair, and weighed 0.42 pounds.
The hair length on the long hair skins is
approximately 4" long when stretched or more. The short hair skins have a
hair length of approximately 1.5" to 2" long, but can also go up to 4" long on some skins.
